Consumer PR Group Publishes Social Media Trends

According to the report, there are five emerging trends that the group maintains will dramatically affect brand approaches to consumer engagement campaigns:

Location - more localized social media programs with the ability to highly target consumers

Noise filtering - brands will need to improve the relevance of their content

Depth over breadth - consumers are shifting their interest to greater depth rather than increasing the size of their networks

Focus on mobile - the rise of smart phones, tablets and other computerized mobile devices has changed how consumers interact with content

Twitter - the integration of Twitter inside Apple iOS5 is emblematic of its continued rise in importance
