Salt Lake City, Utah  --  Software development company LowestMed has announced the launch of its flagship mobile application.

The application enables consumers to view and compare prescription drug prices at supermarket and pharmacy chains in their local area on their Apple iPhone or Google Android device.

Company CEO Brad Bangerter compared the service to that of online travel site Travelocity, in that it provides a one-stop easy way for consumers to compare their prescription medication costs.

In addition, the company also offers a discount card, which when displayed at the point-of-sale provides savings of up to 10%-85% off of retail prices.
