Appcelerator Garners $15 Million VC Investment

   Mountain View, California  --  Software technology company Appcelerator has secured $15 million in a new round of institutional and strategic venture capital funding.

Appcelerator has created an open-source platform for building rich web applications.

Investors in the round included Red Hat, Mayfield Fund and Translink.

The company said it would use the financing to branch its offerings into HTML 5 and to finance its international expansion.
