Core Innovation Capital Closes New VC Fund

New York, New York -- Venture capital firm Core Innovation Capital announced that it has closed its first fund.

Core Innovation Capital I, L.P. closed with $45 million in capital commitments and aims to invest in "innovative and socially responsible financial services for underbanked and unbanked consumers in the United States."

Investors in the fund included Goldman Sachs and a number of large financial institutions, asset managers and endowments.

The firm says that it intends to manage a series of specialized funds focused on financial service companies.
