San Francisco, California  --  Higher education company UniversityNow has announced the launch of a new, low-cost University.

Called New Charter University, the school is designed to remove the cost barrier to gaining higher education degrees.

Students pay $199 per month for as many courses as they can complete, and can earn a bachelor's degree in four years for under $6,500, all inclusive.

The University also operates an "open learning platform" so that anyone can join the online community for free access to course materials.
