Axonia Medical Receives Seed Venture Investment

  Kalamazoo, Michigan  --  Biotechnology company Axonia Medical has garnered $2 million in seed stage investment.

Axonia, which was spun out of the University of Pennsylvania, is developing technology that regenerates nerve cells without using stem cells.

A number of public entities sponsored by the state of Michigan and Western Michigan University provided the financing.

The company said it would use the funding to accelerate development of its lead product for peripheral nerve injury.
