AlienVault Raises Third VC Funding

Campbell, California  --  Security technology company AlienVault has landed $22.4 million in its series C round of institutional venture capital financing.

AlienVault provides open-source software and services that enables enterprises to secure and track their computer resources.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, which also included Sigma Partners.

The company said it would use proceeds to expand its sales and marketing efforts as well as increasing its R&D efforts.
