Coferon Collects $12 Million VC Financing

Stony Brook, New York  --  Biotechnology company Coferon has secured $12 million in its second round of institutional venture capital funding.

Coferon is attempting to establish a new class of orally bioavailable therapeutic molecules "capable of hitting targets inside the cell with exquisite selectivity."

Investors in the round included Ascent Biomedical Ventures, Hatteras Venture Partners, MedImmune Ventures and others.

Proceeds purposes from the round were not disclosed.
