Nokia Lumia Has Encouraging Shipment Start

Monday, July 23, 2012 5:01:00 AM PDT | VentureDeal

Boston, Massachusetts  --  The Nokia Lumia smartphone has shipped 6.9 million units in the first three quarters after its launch, according to a research report from Strategy Analytics.

This compares favorably to the 1.3 million units shipped by the Samsung Android family of smart phones in the first three quarters of its launch and 3.7 million units of the Apple iPhone family in its three-month post-launch tally.

The report cautioned however that Nokia and Microsoft will face stiff competition in the following quarters with a new Apple iPhone 5 expected and the Samsung Galaxy S3 selling in large quantities.
