National Grid To Start Smart Grid Pilot

   Waltham, Massachusetts -- Smart grid technology firm National Grid announced that it has assembled its team of technology and business solutions companies as it prepares for the largest Northeast smart grid pilot to date.

15,000 customers in Worcester, Massachusetts will receive a new level of choice and control over their energy use, which is hoped will enable them to save energy resulting in increased electric service reliability and response.

The company has already installed 5,000 advanced metering devices and plans to launch the full pilot in early 2014.
