Atara Biotherapeutics Secures Series B Funding

   Thousand Oaks, CA  --  Biotechnology company Atara Biotherapeutics has secured $38.5 million in its Series B round of venture capital investment.

Atara is developing treatments for protein-energy wasting in dialiysis patients and advanced solid tumors.

A large syndicate of venture capital and strategic investors made the investment.

Atara said it would use the proceeds to advance its two lead drug candidate programs.
