MacuLogix Sees First Institutional Funding

Atlanta, Georgia  --  Medical diagnostic firm MacuLogix has raised $3.6 million in Series A venture capital investment.

MacuLogix has developed a diagnostic system for detection of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Investors in the round included Berwind Private Equity, Roche Venture Fund, Life Sciences Greenhouse of Central Pennsylvania and Ben Franklin Technology Partners.

The company said it would use the funds to accelerate manufacturing and commercial sales of its diagnostic system.
