Lex Machina Lands Series A Venture Capital Round

   Palo Alto, California  --  Software developer Lex Machina has closed $4.8 million in its first round of institutional venture capital funding.

Lex Machina has developed than intellectual property database and web service for the IP law market.

Cue Ball Group led the round, which included X/Seed Capital, Costanoa Venture Capital and individual investor Jerry Yang.

The company did not say how the proceeds purposes would be used.
