CloudSigma Launches IaaS Enterprise Offering

   Palo Alto, California  --  Public cloud provider CloudSigma has announced the launch of a new Solaris-based IaaS offering for enterprise customers.

Utilizing Oracle's SPARC hardware platform and its Oracle Solaris Kernel Zones, the new service claims to be one of the first major public clouds to support Oracle Solaris natively on SPARC.

The service is a neutral platform that can be used to migrate legacy systems or set up testing and production environments.

Another benefit is that customers "can deploy across a full range of x64/x86 compatible operating systems unmodified, but can also drive powerful SPARC - Oracle Solaris-based -based environments from the same unified interface and platform."
