Bloc Banks Series A Venture Capital Round

   Palo Alto, California  --  Education technology company Bloc has raised $6 million in its first round of institutional venture capital funding.

Bloc has developed online curricula for assisting people in learning how to become proficient at software programming.

Shasta Ventures led the round, which included other undisclosed investors.

The company said it would use the funding to expand its job preparation and placement programs and continue developing new training courses.

Bloc is backed by a syndicate of early stage venture capital firms, previously including Baseline Ventures, First Round Capital, Harrison Metal Capital and Learn Capital Venture Partners.
