New York, New York  --  Software technology company Namely has raised $12 million in its Series B round of venture capital investment.

Namely has developed a talent management platform built for industries such as technology, professional services, media and commerce.

The service enables companies to better manage their teams, retain key employees and grow their revenue base.

Matrix Partners (David Skok) led the round, which also included True Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and Bullpen Capital.

Namely said it would use the funding proceeds to "expand sales, marketing and engineering teams as well as establish a major presence in New York's Financial District next year."
