Monsanto Touts Favorable USDA EIS

   St. Louis, Missouri  --  Monsanto said that the US Department of Agriculture has published its final Environmental Impact Statement regarding its Roundup Ready family of products.

The EIS concluded that the soybean and cotton Roundup products should be fully deregulated, "paving the way to provide access to dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton."

The technologies promise to provide farmers with new tools to manage weeds and obtain better harvests.

The USDA considered nearly 5,000 comments from farmers, academic and scientific experts during the comment period.
