Emotient Nets Series B Venture Capital

   San Diego, California  --  Software developer Emotient has landed $6 million in its second round of venture capital funding.

Emotient is developing facial expression recognition technology that promises to enable more in-depth analysis of facial patterns "that are enabling a future of emotion aware computing".

Handbag led the round, which also included Intel Capital.

The company said it would use the funding to continue commercialization efforts of its core system and further develop additional products for specific verticals.
