New York, New York  --  Time Warner Cable has announced the launch of a new national Wi-Fi network with enhanced security.

Called TWCWiFi-Passpoint, the new service uses improved encryption technology to provide customers with the same level of protection on its public network that they receive with their in-home connection.

The service utilizes enterprise-grade WPA2 security and is available on almost all of the company's 33,000 Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide.

The company says that its network is the largest Passpoint-enabled network in the US and will ultimately allow for seamless roaming between Wi-Fi networks similar to cellular roaming.
