Avalara Adds $26 Million Venture Capital Equity

   Bainbridge Island, Washington  --  Software technology company Avalara has secured $26.3 million in new venture capital investment, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Avalara has designed software that typifies sales tax compliance for businesses of all sizes.

The company's software integrates with numerous other existing and legacy software systems.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Avalara is still seeking $8.7 million in additional financing, according to the filing.

The company is backed by a syndicate of venture capital and private equity firms including Battery Ventures (Chelsea Stoner) and Sageview Capital (Ned Gilhuly).
