Etsy Garners New Venture Capital Investment

   Brooklyn, New York  --  Online custom goods marketplace Etsy has received $5.6 million in new venture capital equity investment, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Etsy operates an online marketplace for buying and selling handmade goods.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Etsy is backed by a syndicate of top-tier venture capital firms, including Accel Partners, Benchmark Capital, Index Ventures and Union Square Ventures.
