Hortonworks Secures Strategic Venture Capital Funding

   Palo Alto, California  --  Software technology company Hortonworks has received $50 million in strategic investment.

Hortonworks provides a range of support, training and development for the Apache Hadoop system.

HP made the investment.

The two companies plan to jointly develop Hadoop to run on HP's Haven big data platform.
