Richmond, Virginia  --  Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has announced the launch of a new way to see a doctor for non-emergency needs.

Called LiveHealth Online, the service is available for members when their own doctor is not readily available.  Members can now use their smart phone, tablet or computer to have a live video visit.

Non-members can also utilize the system, by registering and paying a typical per visit charge of $49.

Anthem says telehealth is now a widely accepted mode of health communications, especially for rural areas with access challenges.
