OpenSignal Raises Series A Venture Capital

   Laguna Hills, California  --  Mobile technology company OpenSignal has secured $4 million in its first round of institutional venture capital investment.

OpenSignal says that it is "creating a comprehensive database of cell phone towers, cell phone signal strength readings and Wi-Fi access points around the world."

Qualcomm led the round, which also included previous investors O'Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and Passion Capital.

The company said it would use the funding to hire additional team members.
