Glendale, California  --  Unified communications technology company Everbridge has announced the launch of a new mobile messaging app for healthcare professionals.

Called HipaaChat, the application provides secure text messaging and video conferencing specifically designed for the healthcare vertical.

The company said that while health care professionals prefer to use smartphones and mobile applications to communicate with their peers and patients, HIPAA creates compliance requirements that the application is designed to solve.

Everbridge said that the application is the only HIPAA-compliant mobile messaging solution that provides video calling meeting telemedicine requirements.

The system is also integrated into Everbridge's Unified Critical Communications Platform and is available as a mobile app for both the Apple iOS and Google Android mobile platforms.
