Decibel Therapeutics Nets $52 Million VC Funds

   Cambridge, Massachusetts  --  Pharmaceutical technology company Decibel Therapeutics has landed $52 million in its first round of institutional venture capital financing.

Decibel is developing treatments for hearing disorders affecting 360 million people worldwide.

Third Rock Ventures led the round, was also included SR One.

The company did not say how it would use the funding proceeds, however it did officially launch from stealth mode in conjunction with the funding announcement.

Third Rock Ventures partner Kevin Starr is chairman and interim chief executive officer of the startup.
