Akadeum Raises Seed Venture Capital Funds

   Ann Arbor, Michigan  --  Cell technology company Akadeum Life Sciences has secured $1 million in seed stage venture capital financing.

Akadeum is developing products that purify cells from blood and tissues for research or diagnostics purposes, among other technologies.

Michigan eLab lead the round, which also include Detroit Innovate, Invest Michigan, University Of Michigan and individual investors.

The company said it would use the funding to continue product development and increase its sales and marketing efforts.

Akadeum CEO Brandon McNaughton also co-founded the company in March, 2014.
