Codiak BioSciences Bags $80 Million Venture Capital

   Cambridge, Massachusetts  --  Biotechnology company Codiak BioSciences has secured $80 million in its first round of institutional venture capital financing commitments.

Codiak is developing exosome technology for cancer diagnostic purposes.

Investors in the round included Fidelity Management & Research Company, Alaska Permanent Fund and Alexandria Venture Investments.

The company did not specify how the funding proceeds would be used.

Concurrent with the announcement, Codiak said that Douglas Williams has joined the firm as its founding president and chief executive officer. He previously served as executive vice president at Biogen.
