Knewton Clears $42 Million Equity Venture Funds

   New York, New York  --  Education technology company Knewton has raised $42.25 million in new equity venture capital funding, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Knewton has developed an adaptive learning engine that customizes educational content on an individual student level.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Knewton is still seeking $5 million in additional financing, according to the filing.

The company was founded in January 2008 by CEO Jose Ferreira.
