Groundfloor Grabs $5 Million Series A Funding

   Atlanta, Georgia  --  Financial services company Groundfloor has landed $5 million in its first round of institutional venture capital funding.

Groundfloor has created what it calls the "first and only real estate lending marketplace open to non-accredited investors."

The company was founded in 2013 by CEO Brian Dally and EVP Nick Bhargava.

Its mission is to open private capital markets for the benefit of individual investors and their investments.

Fintech Ventures led the round, which included other undisclosed investors.

Fintech is a new $100 million venture fund founded by Serguei Kouzmine.
