Cambridge, Massachusetts -- Robotics technology company Soft Robotics has secured $4.45 million in new equity venture capital, according to a new SEC regulatory filing.
Soft Robotics designs grippers and control systems to manipulate items of varying size, shape and weight.
The company's technology enables facilities to better automate their picking, fulfillment and other placing tasks.
The technology was originally developed by the Whitesides Research Group at Harvard University.
There were 10 investors who participated in the offering, however the names were not disclosed.
Soft Robotics is still seeking $5 million in additional equity investment, according to the filing.
