Barclays Launches New York Financial Accelerator

   New York, New York  --  Financial services firm Barclays has announced the expansion of its accelerator program from London to New York.

Utilizing the platform created by Techstars, The Barclays Accelerator will open in New York in July, 2015.

The program will initially provide the ability for 10 companies to participate in a 13 week intensive development, mentoring and networking program focused on financial technologies.

Barclays said it will provide custom built premises in Manhattan which will house the 10 companies.

The startups will have "access to a catalog of Barclays APIs and data to help them build and refine their business models."

The program will culminate with a Demo Day in October, which will allow the companies to pitch their ideas to investors and industry participants.
