Summerville, South Carolina  --  SCRA Technology Ventures announced that it has made investments into technology startup companies.

Charleston-area companies GWIG and Wave Sciences have each received early-stage investment from the SC Launch program created and funded by SCRA.

GWIG is developing a "streamlined digital referral application that provides the ability for users to refer friends to their favorite businesses as well as providing businesses with analytics on their referrals."

Wave Sciences is developing hearing assistive technologies along with digital audio noise reduction software. The company is expanding its product portfolio with the new funding.

SCRA has been funding research commercialization and technology companies through the program for years.

The company says that several economic impact studies show its cumulative output on South Carolina's economy to be over $18 billion since inception.
