Silicon Valley Foundation Awards $474 Million in 2014

   Mountain View, California  --  The Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) announced that it has granted more than $474 million to nonprofit organizations worldwide during 2014.

SVCF said that it received a record $1.96 billion in new gifts from corporate and individual donors during the year, increasing its assets under management to $6.5 billion.

Of the $474 million, $216 million was awarded to organizations in the nine Bay Area counties.

During 2014, the group hosted an event called Silicon Valley Gives, which raised $8 million for more than 600 local charities.

SVCF also said that it launched a center for early learning, expanding its commitment to young children and families located in Silicon Valley.
