AnchorFree Publishes WiFi Security Test Results

Wednesday, March 4, 2015 5:00:00 AM PDT | VentureDeal

Barcelona, Spain  --  Wireless security company AnchorFree has announced the results of a test of the security and privacy of potential Wi-Fi users.

The company tested a representative sample of the approximately 90,000 participants in the Mobile World Congress event.

92% of the sample of 465 participants failed to use encryption or security when accessing public Wi-Fi facilities.

AnchorFree said that this indicates a significant danger to cellular service providers who are thinking of "offloading" subscribers to Wi-Fi systems.

Concurrent with the report finding announcement, the company announced a new privacy product, called Wi-Fi Security.
