AEGEA Medical Clears Series C Financing

   Redwood City, California  --  Medical device technology company AEGEA Medical has received $36 million in its third round of institutional venture capital funding.

AEGEA is commercializing what it calls a "novel treatment for abnormal uterine bleeding."

Investors included Alloy Ventures, Covidien/Medtronic, Delphi Ventures, BioMed Ventures and others.

The company said it would use the funding to complete the submission of its PMA application to market its endometrial ablation procedure.

AEGEA has raised a total of at least $55 million in development financing.
