San Francisco, California  --  Software technology company Bugsnag has received $7.2 million in its first round of institutional venture capital investment.

Bugsnag "detects crashes in web and mobile apps" and helps developers understand where and how each error happens.

Benchmark Capital (Eric Vishria) led the round, which included previous investor Matrix Partners.

The company did not specifically say how it would use the funding proceeds.

Bugsnag previously raised $1.4 million in seed stage financing in 2013.
