Babbel Banks Series C Venture Capital

   New York, New York  --  Language education technology company Babbel has secured $22 million in its third round of institutional venture capital investment.

Babbel has designed an online service that provides language learning to individuals via its "fun, multi-media methods and the opportunity to exchange with a community."

The company was founded in 2008 and claims to have more than 10 million users.

Scottish Equity Partners led the round, which also included Nokia Growth Partners and Reed Elsevier Ventures.

The company said it would use the funding to drive its growth initiatives in the United States.
