$49 million of the investments are from its applied R&D And R&D Facility Sectors and the remaining $51 million is related to its emerging technologies, SC Launch and Stage 2 development programs.

The various programs serve to support entrepreneurs and assist them in commercializing research through mentoring, grant matching and direct investments.

SCRA quoted economic impact studies showing that it's cumulative output into South Carolina's economy exceeds $18 billion since 1983.

The company says it has created more than 15,000 technology-related jobs with annual wages that average between $55,000 and $79,000.
