San Francisco, California  --  Hardware technology supplier Punch Through has announced the launch of a new Bluetooth low energy electronic device.

Called Bean+, the device is an Arduino compatible board that enables users to program wirelessly using the Bluetooth Low Energy protocol.

Using the electronic system combined with a smart phone will allow electronics hobbyists to create smart phone-controlled Internet of Things devices.

The board features a built-in rechargeable battery, temperature sensor, accelerometer and RGB LED.

Bean+ will "coexist with the original Bean, allowing creators to choose the features and price point that best meet their needs."

The device is available via a Kickstarter campaign for a discounted price of $39.
