Cruise Collects Series A Venture Capital

   San Francisco, California  --  Software developer Cruise has raised $12.5 million in its first institutional round of venture capital financing.

Cruise has developed what it calls the "first highway autopilot system that installs on your existing vehicle."

The system helps drivers stay in their lane and keep a safe distance from the car in front of them.

Spark Capital led the round, which included other undisclosed investors.

The company did not say how the funding proceeds would be used.

Cruise CEO Kyle Vogt was previously at Twitch, Justin.tv and Socialcam.
