MasteryConnect Reels In Series B Round

   Salt Lake City, Utah  --  Education software developer MasteryConnect has landed $5 million in an extension of its second round of venture capital investment.

MasteryConnect has developed software that provides teachers with an expanded opportunity to collaborate and share formative common assessments.

Mark Zuckerberg was the investor in the round, which was an extension of the company's previous Series B funding.

MasteryConnect said it would use the additional funding to increase the reach of its competency-based learning platform.

Company CEO Cory Reid has been with the firm since April 2011 when he started as COO.
