Ancera Adds $1 Million Equity Venture Capital

Branford, Connecticut  --  Biotechnology instrument company Ancera has raised $1.1 million in new equity venture capital funding, according to an SEC regulatory filing.

Ancera is developing a platform for the "separation, quantitative detection and identification of my new concentrations of various pathogens from whole blood or other bodily fluids."

The company is based on technology it has licensed exclusively from Yale university.

Investors in the financing were not disclosed, nor was how the company intends to use the funding proceeds.

Ancera is still seeking $8.9 million in additional financing, according to the filing.

A total of two investors participated in the offering.
