San Francisco, California -- Energy financing company Mercatus has landed $11.7 million in its second round of institutional venture capital funding.
Mercatus has developed an energy origination platform that improves energy financing transaction velocity and quality. The company says that its service reduces financing costs of energy projects. Traverse Venture Partners and TPG Capital co-led the round which included previous investors Trepp, Vision Bridge Partners and Augment Ventures. Mercatus did not disclose how the funding proceeds would be used. Company CEO Haresh Patel co-founded the firm in January 2009.
