San Francisco, California -- Financial services marketplace company RealtyShares has received $17 million in its second round of institutional venture capital investment.
RealtyShares operates an online investment platform that enables investors to pool their funds into private real estate investment opportunities. New investor Union Square Ventures led the round, which included previous investors Menlo Ventures and General Catalyst Partners. The company said it would expand its product offerings and double its staff from 34 people currently. RealtyShares was founded by CEO Nav Athwal in November 2012.
