San Francisco, California -- Electronic tag technology company Chronicled has landed $3.42 million in seed stage venture capital funding.
Chronicled has designed what it calls "tamper proof Smart Tags" that give sneakers a digital presence on the Internet. The system enables users and suppliers to verify shoe authenticity via a companion mobile application. Mandra Capital led the round, which included investors Colbeck, Pantera Capital and other undisclosed investors. The company said it will use the funding for its technology and sales and marketing initiatives. CEO Ryan Orr co-founded the company in August 2014.
