Oakland, California -- Internet marketplace Roofstock has cleared $13.3 million in its first round of institutional venture capital financing.
Roofstock has developed an online marketplace that enables investors to invest in leased investment homes from institutional sellers. Bain Capital Ventures was one of the institutional investors in the round. The company launched its service in Central Florida concurrent with the funding announcement. Roofstock says it plans to introduce a pricing algorithm that will use a sophisticated process to determine a home's best list price.
