Reston, Virginia -- Video conferencing communications company Avizia raised $11 million in its first round of institutional venture capital investment.
Avizia utilizes Cisco TelePresence technology for real-time video collaboration in a variety of verticals. Blue Heron Capital led the round, which also included investors such as Middleland Capital, Waterline Ventures and Blu Venture Investors. The company said it would use the funding to "support continued innovation across its care coordination platform." Avizia was founded in May 2013 by CEO Mike Baird.
