Apio Systems Lands Series A Funds

   Warwick, New York  --  Mobile technology company Apio Systems has secured $5 million in its first round of institutional and strategic venture capital investment.

Apio is creating a proprietary mobile-based platform that uses smart phones and tablets to deliver situational awareness to drivers.

Verizon Ventures led the round, was also included Lerer Hippeau Ventures and others.

The company did not say how the funding proceeds would be used.
