Cambridge, Massachusetts -- Biotechnology company Oncorus has landed Series A financing of $57 million.
Oncorus is developing an immunotherapy platform of oncolytic viruses. These different types of therapeutic viruses promise to treat several types of cancer, including malignant and aggressive cancers. MPM Capital led the round which also included Deerfield Capital, Celgene and other undisclosed investors. The company said it would use the proceeds to advance its immunotherapy platform "using its next-generation oncolytic herpes simplex virus."
